SEDONA, Ariz. -- Some people believe Dec. 21, 2012, will mark the end of the world and one man in Sedona has big plans for it.
Peter Gersten is counting down to Dec. 21and said he'll wait for the end of the world at the top of Bell Rock in Sedona.
Gersten posted a video on YouTube detailing his end of the world theory.
"On the winter solstice of 2012 a rare galactic alignment will channel a unique energy frequency emanating from the center of our galaxy to specific coordinates on Earth," he says in the video.
He believes a cosmic portal will open at the base of Sedona's Bell Rock and Gersten said he's going to jump in.
"Why do I believe this? Well, it has to do with what I discovered after first experiencing and then subsequently researching the 11:11 phenomenon," he says in the video.
So many people are buying into end-of-the-world theories, NASA is setting out to debunk them.
NASA already released a video for the day after Dec. 21. It says the idea the world will end comes from a misinterpretation of the Mayan calendar and explains why we'll all still be here on Dec. 22.
As for Gersten, he said his plans are still a go. He'll be waiting for a portal in Sedona and he doesn't plan to be alone.
"Your presence is requested in Sedona, Ariz., on Dec. 21, 2012, to witness the opening of the portal," he says in the video.
