LAKE HAVASU – A man was injured after being thrown from an exploding boat at Lake Havasu.
Mohave County Sheriff’s Waterways deputies responded to a single-boat accident at Windsor Beach State Park on Wednesday at about 11 a.m.
When Mohave County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived on scene they saw a boat had exploded at a launch ramp. The only person onboard was thrown from the boat and reportedly landed on the dock. He has been identified as 65-year-old James Tucker, of Lake Havasu City.
Tucker suffered back pain and was taken to Havasu Regional Medical Center.
So far the investigation has determined the 38-foot Formula boat was started and sat idle for a few minutes.
The explosion remains under investigation.
