LAKE PLEASANT, Ariz. -- A man and a 10-year-old boy were injured where their jet skis collided at Lake Pleasant on Friday.
Peoria Fire Department Battalion Chief Steve Kelley said the boy's jet ski T-boned the other, which was driven by a family member in his 30s.
The man's lower leg apparently became caught between the two jet skis, causing a significan't fracture, Kelley said. He was airlifted to a hospital.
Kelley said the man was pulled from the water, but he was conscious and talking to firefighters.
The boy was taken to a hospital by ground ambulance with minor injuries.
There were no passengers on either jet ski.
"On busy weekends like this, you've just got to be aware of your surroundings and don't take chances you don't need to," Kelley said.
