ARIZONA CITY, Ariz. -- Three men have been arrested for allegedly burglarizing four homes in Arizona City, according to a spokesman for the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.
The arrests came after one of the suspects, 26-year-old Zachary Nelson, turned himself in to authorities on Sept. 19.
Nelson admitted to the burglaries and said he stole a vehicle from one of the homes. The vehicle was found in the desert area behind a truck stop in Eloy where Nelson said the car was abandoned.
He also showed investigators where the homes were located and took them to his own home where he showed them some of the stolen items.
Nelson said he had two accomplices and said the rest of the stolen property was located at their residence in Arizona City.
Detectives used that lead to arrest 24-year-old John Gaitland and 37-year-old Robert Acuna on Sept. 20.
Detectives were able to locate stolen firearms, electronics, digital scales, credit cards, checks, lawn equipment, tools, ammunition, and other items.
One of firearms also had its serial number altered.
Gaitland is not allowed to have firearms because of prior felony convictions. Narcotics and other drug paraphernalia were also found during the search.
Gaitland and Acuna were booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center for burglary, trespassing, criminal damage, possession of stolen property, theft of credit cards and checks, possession of narcotic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana for sale.
Gaitland was also charged with misconduct involving weapons.
Nelson was booked for burglary, criminal trespassing and criminal damage.
