SUPERIOR, Ariz. -- Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles has filed charges against a 39-year-old man for allegedly making threats against schools and employees in Superior, Ariz.
Antonio Jose Ramirez, of Superior, was taken into custody Thursday evening.
Voyles alleges that on Nov. 17, 2011, Ramirez left a voice mail message at John F. Kennedy Elementary School threatening to burn the employees and that on April 24, 2013, he made a threat against a school employee stating he would blow her up, everyone at her home, and both Kennedy Elementary School and Superior Junior/Senior High School.
Due to the nature of the threats, normal operation of the schools was disrupted.
Ramirez faces three felony counts for the alleged incidents and is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.
"Ensuring public safety and seeking justice remain my top priorities," Voyles said. "I continue to work proactively with law enforcement to create safer communities and if the potential exists to prevent potential tragedy, I assure my full commitment to that end."
