PHOENIX -- A blue mail collection box that was stolen in Phoenix has been recovered. A postal inspector said the box was empty.
The collection box was stolen from the area of 35th Avenue and Earll Drive Friday night or early Saturday morning. It was found close to that area on Tuesday.
No arrests have been made.
Mail theft carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison.
Postal inspectors are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the theft.

Customers who believe their mail may have been affected can also call 1-877-876-2455 and file a mail theft complaint.
