PHOENIX -- Maricopa County sheriff's deputies recovered approximately $350,000 cash, 800 pounds of marijuana and guns in an undercover drug operation Thursday night in Phoenix.
MCSO spokesman Jeff Sprong said deputies were acting on information from a previous case, which led them to a residence in the 9100 block of West Alvarado Road.
The currency was hidden in several suitcases, according to Sprong. A semi-automatic rifle and semi-automatic pistol were also recovered from the scene.
Four people were arrested and booked into Fourth Avenue Jail for attempted possession of marijuana and conspiracy to commit possession of marijuana for sale.
They were identified as Adrine Walters, Antonio Aispuro, Racoco Williams and Herminio Bonilla.
"We will continue to crack down on major drug traffickers," Sheriff Joe Arpaio said. "In the near future, we will also concentrate on street-level dealers using a special unit of deputies and crime suppression operations.”
