PHOENIX -- A high-energy show is hitting the Valley this weekend. It's called Nitro Circus Live, and it's kind of a compressed version of the X Games.
“Yeah, it's a dangerous sport,” said FMX performer Nate Adams, who is one of the best at what he does.
FMX is Freestyle Motocross, a variation on the sport of motocross in which motorcycle riders attempt to impress judges with jumps and stunts.
“Basically motocross bikes, the same bike as a dirt bike racer, and we use them to do back flips, 360s, supermans, all those types of tricks, X game stuff,” said Adams.
But instead of spending an entire week checking out all the different X game events, it's all jam-packed into a high-energy, high-flying, three hour show, called Nitro Circus Live.
“The best freestyle motor cross riders in the world, the best freestyle BMX riders in the world, mountain bike riders, free skiers, snowboarders,” said Adams.
But for Nate, being in the valley means coming home. He graduated from Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale.
“I only get to come back a couple of times a year to see the family and all that, but to come back and ride here, get a bunch of my buddies out here and some family that I haven't seen in years and be able to ride in front of them and show them what I do,” said Adams.
Nitro Circus Live is Friday, January 24th at 7:30 at Jobing.com Arena. Good seats are still available. You can purchase tickets online.
