SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- North Scottsdale is the new home to the giant furniture store Living Spaces. It's the company's first store outside of California. And many shoppers camped out for hours for a chance at good deals and giveaways.

The first 50 people in line Thursday got a brand new sofa for free. One shopper says she arrived at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday to secure her spot in line. "I thought, well, a free couch," she told 3TV.  "And, also wanted to check out the store. It looks like an interesting store."

Grover Geiselman of Living Spaces says the store offers something for everyone at every price range.

"We have a very broad range of furniture," says Geiselman. "We have sofas starting at $295 going all the way up to $1995, so we try to offer a little bit to everyone."

Living Spaces will also have a warehouse in town, and that will bring 150 jobs to the Valley. "We're bringing a lot of new jobs in," confirms Geiselman. "Good-paying jobs, as well."

The 130,000 foot retail space was previously occupied by The Great Indoors. You can browse 150 living rooms and more than 70 bedrooms. You'll also find dining rooms, kids' rooms, home office, rugs, pillows and other unique accessories.

There's also a Revive Sleep Center inside Living Spaces, which will offer the latest in sleep technology, and will feature top brands like Sealy, Serta, Circadian, Tempur-Pedic, iComfort and Optimum.

Other shopper benefits include a non-commission sales staff, complimentary design consulting, and  a supervised kids' fun room.

This Living Spaces showroom is also earth-friendly. The store has incorporated a number of "green" features, including energy saving LED lighting, integrated power management systems and advanced temperature control monitors to provide maximum comfort to guests while doing its part with energy conservation.

And while some of the building's features from its period as The Great Indoors have been retained, nearly 100 percent of the demolition materials that resulted from construction have been recycled for future use on other projects.

In celebration of the Scottsdale showroom's grand opening, Living Spaces will host a series of events throughout the month of August.

The store has a big Opening Weekend Giveaway planned. On Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11, shoppers can enter to win one of ten $1,000 Living Spaces shopping sprees. To support the local community, Living Spaces will also match the giveaway with a $10,000 contribution to the 100 Club of Arizona to assist with the families of public safety officers and firefighters that are injured or killed in the line of duty.

On Saturday, August 17, from noon to 2 p.m., shoppers at the store can meet the star of Bravo's hit show Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis. Guests will have an opportunity to receive an autograph and picture as time permits.

Living Spaces is located at 16275 N. Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale. That's on Frank Lloyd Wright and Scottsdale Roads at the Promenade shopping center, which also houses Nordstrom Rack, Trader Joe's and Lowe's.
