KINGMAN, Ariz. -- A Kingman woman was arrested Thursday after deputies reportedly found drugs inside the home where she lived with her two young children.
Mohave County authorities arrested 38-year-old Kristen Suzanne Plank on felony charges of child abuse and possession of dangerous drugs, drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
Around 9:30 a.m., sheriff's deputies responded to the house on Hearne Avenue near Melody Street to assist Mohave County Planning and Zoning Enforcement with an open-lot storage complaint.
Deputies contacted Plank outside the home and learned she had a misdemeanor warrant issued by the Kingman Justice Court for a dog at large.
She was taken into custody without incident.
Plank told deputies her 6-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter were inside the house. When the boy opened the door, deputies saw that the house was in shambles, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies contacted Child Protective Services and asked Plank if there were drugs inside the home. They say she admitted to having marijuana.
Deputies served a search warrant and found the marijuana along with numerous plastic bags and glass pipes containing drug residue, according to the sheriff's office. The items were reportedly within the children's reach.
CPS took custody of the two kids, and Plank was booked into Mohave County Jail.
