APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. -- Investigators believe an Apache Junction woman intentionally set her mobile home on fire to end her own life.

Linda Reynolds, 63, was found Saturday night in the hallway near the back door of her home in the area of Broadway Avenue and Ironwood Drive.

Reynolds had a history of depression with several suicide attempts over the past couple of years since her husband passed away in 2012, according to Dave Montgomery, assistant chief with the Superstition Fire & Medical District. She also was suffering from diabetes, which was causing her significant pain.

Investigators believe she lit the fire in an extra bedroom. The fire smoldered for some time before it generated enough smoke to be seen from the outside.

The woman lived alone in the home. Her dog survived the fire and is being care for at an animal shelter.
