PHOENIX -- An anti-immigration rally at the State Capitol took an unexpected turn Saturday when a group of Neo-Nazis turned out.

American Citizens United was one of several groups protesting across the country today, opposing a comprehensive immigration reform bill.

The group, which is against amnesty for illegal immigrants, made it clear that racism had no place at its rally. The mood, however, changed drastically when Neo-Nazi protesters tried to join.

Police stepped in and calmed everybody down.

American Citizens United said the Neo-Nazi message was not welcome at its cause.

"That's a completely, you know, racist organization," said Jim Fairmont of American Citizens United. "This is not about racism, it's about law enforcement. Period."

On the flip side of the immigration issue, a coalition of immigration advocates, law enforcement and others have created Reform Immigration for America, and will be rallying in support of the upcoming bill, which includes a legalization program for those who are in the country illegally.

I am no prejudice so this means nothing to me. I cant even fathom the reason for this conduct. Life is toooooo short.

I'm willing to bet that there were no protests along the Canadian border.

American Indian Movement AIM should be at those gatherings to quell the Nazi's at the door. Put a few arrows in them then maybe they can get back on the Mayflower

Those who advocate "closed borders" are not living in the real world. The fact of the matter is the world is changing - and changing for the better - and rather than closing our borders, I advocate that we open them even more and increase immigration 10-fold. Some advantages: *Economic stimulation - more immigrants means more workers and therefore more consumers *Keep wages in check in order to allow for continued economic expansion *Improve international relations - as other countries see that we treat THEIR PEOPLE with respect, they in turn will be more likely to treat US with respect *Strengthens the fabric of our society - increased racial and cultural diversity means a stronger, more cohesive society *Continue the legacy of Ted Kennedy, who did more work than anyone else to improve our immigraion policies

I keep reading about the neo nazi's appearing at these events. Where the hell are they coming from, are they organized in Arizona? Arizona is a state of cultural and racial diversity. Yes, voicing for immigration laws is different from the Neo Nazi's racist organization protesters! We do not need prejudice nazi's in Arizona! Soon, we will have a hatred between the Mexicans and anyone who looks like a neo-nazi - white. And then everyone else who is white will have to always look over their shoulders for prejudice predators that the neo nazi's have sparked up against them. PEOPLE NEED TO POST THEIR OPINIONS!!!!
