PHOENIX -- A strong ridge of high pressure remains in place over our region, keeping Arizona warm and dry this week.
Today will likely be the hottest day of the week with clear skies and a forecast high of 109 degrees.
The average for the Valley for this time of year is 103 that is tr, but we'll be above that every afternoon this week.
Overnight lows stay in the upper 70s to low 80s all week under clear skies.
By midweek, at least one weather disturbance will sweep by to our north, knocking our afternoon temperatures down a few degrees.
Look for a high of about 105 by Wednesday and Thursday with more sunshine expected.
Today is the start of "Monsoon Awareness Week" and the actual monsoon begins next Sunday. We still see no sign of a monsoon pattern developing anytime soon with no storms or rain in sight.
