PHOENIX -- Attorney General Tom Horne has filed a consumer fraud lawsuit against a Phoenix-based mortgage services company that has allegedly been targeting Spanish-speaking consumers.
The lawsuit alleges that Making All Homes Affordable, LLC, owner and manager Albert Figueroa, and salesperson Steve Villanueva have been misleading consumers into believing their principal and interest would be reduced by using their program.
According to the lawsuit, Figueroa is featured in Spanish radio ads telling consumers that if they meet with a representative, MAHA will determine if they’re eligible for reductions.
Consumers were then told they were eligible for reductions without verifying whether the consumer’s lender would agree to any reductions.
According to Horne, MAHA never provided any reductions even after consumers paid approximately $1,700 each for the program.
Figueroa is also accused of fraudulently obtaining payment from a MAHA customer by recording a fraudulent Deed of Trust against the customer’s property for a non-existent debt.
If you believe you have been the victim of fraudulent mortgage practices, or any other type of consumer fraud, you can file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office at www.azag.gov.
