PHOENIX -- The ASU Sun Devils aren't the only Arizona football team hoping to make a big splash on the national stage.
Some Pop Warner kids have high hopes, too. The Deer Valley Crusaders are gearing up to play a championship game in Florida. But they need some help getting there.
The Crusaders are 12-0, and are the best Pop Warner football team in Arizona.
"They're very good; they're very good," says their coach. "They work so hard."
After defeating two strong teams from California, the Crusaders are now off to Florida for a chance to play in the Pop Warner Super Bowl.
But it's not that easy. Coach Rob Czosnyka says in order for all members of his undefeated team to make that trip, more money still needs to be raised.
"We're about $10,000 short right now," says Czosnyka.
Czosnyka says he tries to teach his players more than just football; he likes to teach life lessons as well. He says the 9, 10, and 11-year olds on the Crusaders have worked hard both on and off the field. The kids have also been told they won't play unless they make all As & Bs in school.
Czosnyka believes the trip to Florida will be a great experience and a reward for that hard work, with a visit to Disney World included.
We asked parents if it's all been worth it. "Oh, yes," says mom Trisha Davis. "To watch these boys play and to see the excitement when they win."
