PHOENIX -- It’s a great Easter Sunday to be spent outside.

“Just out hanging out for Easter weekend,” said Roy Price, who brought his family out to Lake Pleasant on Friday for some camping and fun in the sun. “We went for a pretty good trail ride yesterday. ... Saw the donkeys and cows and stuff. It was pretty fun.”

The water is still too chilly for the adults but not for their brave kids.

“We went swimming yesterday in the lake,” Natalie Price said. "It was cold."

Another popular spot Sunday morning was Piestewa Peak.

“There's quite a bit of people on the trail,” said Reynaldo Aldava, who had just made it down the mountain.

He and many others were getting in a nice hike before things heated up.

Aldava said he planned to eat a good breakfast after his hike but other hikers were hoping to burn some calories after indulging in Easter goodies.

“We just had a brunch, so it's time to work some of it off," said Sandee Cardinal, who was visiting from Montana.
