PHOENIX -- The Winner of the St. Joseph’s Hospital ‘Bounce with the Suns Contest’ is recovering after dribbling a basketball for nearly 54 hours to win a prize that is priceless to him and his son.

Mike Ornoski, of Glendale, dribbled from Sunday, April 1 at 9:00 a.m. until around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3.

“My arms are a little sore, but mainly my feet are hurting from being on them for 50 some hours,” Ornoski said.

To be exact, Ornoski dribbled 53 hours and 45 minutes, winning the 4th annual dribble competition, presented by the St. Joseph’s Health & Wealth Raffle, benefitting St. Joseph’s Hospital and Barrow Neurological Institute.

The contest started with 58 Suns fans all wanting to claim the prize Ornoski now has in his hot little hands: A road trip for two with the Phoenix Suns during the 2012-13 season.

The trip includes air transportation on the Suns’ charter plane, hotel accommodations and game tickets to watch the Suns in action.

“I had no idea what I was getting myself into,” said Ornoski. “It was an awesome experience and I did it all for my son. He was my motivation.”

Since its inception in 2003, St. Joseph’s Health & Wealth Raffle has raised $52 million benefiting St. Joseph’s Hospital and Barrow Neurological Institute, the largest hospital in the state of Arizona.
