PHOENIX (AP) -- A Gilbert man accused of fatally shooting his estranged father two years ago has been convicted of second-degree murder.

Maricopa County authorities say 25-year-old Tyler McQuade was found guilty in the case Tuesday.

His sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 11.

McQuade was arrested in January 2012 and originally charged with first-degree murder in the shooting at his father's home in Tonopah.

County Sheriff's officials say Sean McQuade was fatally shot in the face and his body was found on Jan. 23, 2012.

Homicide detectives say they found at least six expended shotgun shells around the home.

They say Tyler McQuade told them that he hadn't seen or spoken to his father since November 2011.
