PHOENIX -- Last minute shoppers, listen up. Christmas is only 8 days away and hundreds of retailers are enticing consumers by taking part in "Free Shipping Day".  It begins at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday. It's a 24-hour stretch during which retailers offer free shipping in the U.S., guaranteeing delivery by Christmas Eve.

This is a pretty big deal. There are hundreds and hundreds of retailers participating, from upscale stores like Nordstrom, to discount chains like Target. Other big name stores offering this deal include Barnes and Noble, Best Buy, even L.L. Bean, Zappos and Amazon.

Each retailer may require you to spend a minimum amount in order to qualify for free shipping day, so make sure you check with the store first.

While the list participating stores is impressive, some wait until the last minute to announce they will offer free shipping.

To find out if your favorite store is on the list. Visit www.freeshippingday.com beginning at 12:01a.m.
