TEMPE, Ariz. -- A Maricopa County grand jury has indicted former NFL player Darren Sharper on two counts of sexual assault and three counts of administering dangerous drugs, according to the Tempe Police Department.
Sharper is accused of sexually assaulting two women at an apartment near Sun Devil Stadium on Nov. 21.
Both women contacted police after they were allegedly drugged and then sexually assaulted by Sharper as they were passed out.
Sgt. Michael Pooley said Tempe detectives have been working with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office on the investigation.
Sharper has pleaded not guilty to rape and drug charges in Los Angeles. He is under investigation in sexual assault cases in Louisiana, Nevada and Florida.
Sharper played in the NFL from 1997 to 2010 primarily with the Green Bay Packers. He retired after the 2010 season.
