PHOENIX -- Lots of folks are getting excited about football season. And to help get in the spirit, stop by Westgate to check out a big display of football memorabilia.
Gallery Glendale at Westgate will feature a special exhibit during the month of August to celebrate football, Cardinals training camp and Glendale hosting the 2015 Super Bowl.
The August exhibit at the Gallery will include a one-of-a-kind collection of football helmets and memorabilia from longtime Glendale business, Max's Sports Bar and Restaurant.
It's just a small sampling of what the restaurant collected over the years. "Just a fraction of what we've got over at the restaurant," says Jim Young, manager of Max's. "We've probably got a thousand helmets, total."
During the five week exhibit, Max's will feature a rotating display of helmets from the collegiate top 20 teams, as well as a special military helmet display.
You'll see vintage helmets ranging from the 1920s to the 1960s. You'll also find helmets signed by some of your favorite players. "I think it will be interesting for football fans in the Valley," says Young. The exhibit even features some high school helmets and memorabilia.
Admission to Gallery Glendale and all the activities are free and open to the public!
