PARKER, Ariz. -- A fire has broken out on the bridge connecting Parker, Ariz., and Earp, Calif.
The bridge has been under construction and it appears some temporary structures may have burned. It's not clear yet how the fire started or whether this incident will affect the integrity of the bridge under construction.
Traffic is not being allowed on the bridge at this time. Travelers needing to drive between the California side of the Colorado River and the Arizona side will need to wait until the bridge reopens or find alternate routes.
Drivers can cross over Parker Dam to the north of this location or they can use Agnes-Wilson Road to the south.
There is no estimated time to reopen the road. Engineers may need to inspect the structural soundness of the bridge before it can be reopened.
