PHOENIX -- Federal agents and Maricopa County deputies converged on a home at 39th and Beryl avenues, which is south of Peoria Avenue, Tuesday morning.

An MCSO spokesman said deputies were assisting with a DEA search warrant.

Federal agents said they were targeting a methamphetamine distribution network.

Neighbors told 3TV heard a loud boom at about 4:30 a.m. When they looked outside, they saw the DEA agents and deputies. Investigators were still going through the home to collect evidence hours later.

Authorities detained several people but took only three into custody. Investigators have not released any information about those suspects.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Justice said federal agents also seized several high-powered weapons, meth, marijuana and pills.

At this point, it is not clear what triggered the initial investigation.
