Poll: Do you agree with the judge's decision?
PHOENIX -- A final decision on the fate of Mickey the pit bull will be revealed in court Tuesday morning.
A final disposition and order hearing is set for 8:30 a.m. at the Phoenix Municipal Courthouse. A judge is expected to rule on where Mickey will be sent to live permanently. But no one knows where that home will be.
It's been two months since the attack that touched off a vigorous, national debate over what should happen to the dog. Maricopa County Animal Care and Control has given Mickey a home since the February attack on 4-year-old Kevin Vicente.
"I do think he's probably happier here than he's been in a long time just because there's a routine, he's getting fed on a regular basis, he's getting vet care and attention and some of the stuff he's probably lacking before," says Melissa Gable of Maricopa County Animal Care and Control.
Mickey has been neutered since the attack. But other conditions on Mickey's life laid out by the judge have not been met.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office confirms that Sheriff Joe Arpaio will be in court Tuesday, asking that the dog be given to his no-kill animal rescue known as the Mash unit.
