PHOENIX - One person is dead and two are injured after a two-vehicle collision near 57th Drive and East Van Buren Street.
The crash took place on Friday night. Investigators say it appears alcohol was a factor in this crash. A woman was reportedly driving with a small child in the car when she hit the victim's car.
A Phoenix Fire spokesperson tells 3TV, "Police officers...when we arrived on scene detected the odor of alcohol on the person. There were beer cans inside the vehicle. There were beer cans strewn about on the roadway. Fortunately the baby is fine."
Phoenix Fire Department officials said the 35- to 40-year-old woman and the 2-year-old girl were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.
