GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Glendale police are investigating a collision that left a pedestrian dead.
At approximately 7:20 PM Thursday, Glendale Police Officers responded to the area of the 4400 block of W. Peoria Ave in regards to a collision involving a pedestrian.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the pedestrian was crossing from the north side of Peoria Ave southbound, and was not inside of a crosswalk. That's when he was struck by a Jeep headed Westbound.
The pedestrian is a male in his 50s, and he was transported to a local hospital. He was later pronounced deceased. His identity is not being released at this time as well.
The Jeep was being driven by a male in his 30s who lives in Peoria. His teenage daughter was also in the car. Neither speed nor impairment appears to be a factor in this collision on the part of the Jeep driver.
Glendale Police Vehicular Crimes detectives have responded to the scene and have assumed the investigation, which is ongoing at this time.
