ELOY, Ariz. (AP) -- Authorities say a skydiver has been killed near Eloy after striking the door while exiting the jump aircraft at about 10,000 feet.

Federal Aviation Administration officials say the accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. Friday.

The name, age and hometown of the person who died wasn't immediately available.

The FAA likely will investigate whether the victim's parachutes was properly packed by the appropriate person.

Eloy is located between Phoenix and Tucson and is a popular Arizona skydiving location.

It also was the site of a deadly mishap involving two parachutists late last year.

Two skydivers were killed on Dec. 3 after they collided during a jump, collapsing their parachutes and sending them plummeting to the ground.

The men were among about 200 people trying to set world records for group jumps.
