PHOENIX (AP) -- A former wrestling coach at a Goodyear high school accused of sending sexual text messages to a student will serve more than a month in jail.

A Maricopa County Superior Court judge sentenced 25-year-old Kyle Curtis Deberry on Wednesday to 32 days in jail followed by 15 years of supervised probation.

Deberry pleaded guilty in June to one count of child abuse with sexual intent.

Deberry was arrested in December on suspicion of luring a minor for sexual exploitation and assault.

He coached at Desert Edge High School until August 2013 when school officials suspended him and reported him to police.

Authorities say they had been investigating Deberry for the past several months.

Court documents show Deberry sent sexually explicit text messages to a 16-year-old female student in April 2013.
