PHOENIX -- Very dry weather is expected into next week with no sign of monsoonal moisture entering the state through next Tuesday.

The average high this time of year in metro Phoenix is 104 degrees. We’ll probably stay below that for the next several days. But by the weekend, we expect highs around 105-108 degrees, above average for this time of year.

Periodic weather disturbances passing to our north will maintain a dry westerly flow and near to even slightly below normal temperatures across the region through the middle of the week.

These weather systems will also produce gusty afternoon winds and lead to an elevated fire danger. A warming trend is likely late in the week as high pressure becomes reestablished across the desert southwest.
