PHOENIX – A 19-year-old driver was killed in a crash in Phoenix early Friday morning.
According to Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson, witnesses saw a Toyota Camry traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of 67th Avenue at about 1:30 a.m.
The vehicle struck the curb and drove up on the sidewalk. It crossed the railroad tracks then collided with a fence and wall surrounding the canal bank south of Van Buren Street.
The male driver died at the scene. He was the only person in the car.
Police have not released his name.
