SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- We may be deep into the dog days of summer, but that doesn't mean Valley canines can't stay cool!

Think of it as a doggie snow day. Some pooches at the Raintree Pet Resort + Medical Center in Scottsdale enjoyed a "Summer Snow Day for Dogs" on Thursday. Furry friends spent the morning frolicking in five tons of snow!

"We have five tons of snow today," says Julie Savard of the Raintree Pet Resort + Medical Center. "We know how to keep dogs cool, happy and entertained."

Pet owners pay $10 for a snow pass and the purchase of a play session. The event is open to both Pet Resort guests as well as Drop-in Daycare guests.

"For people who work, for people who have workmen coming to their house, perhaps they want to take a day and go to Sedona and get to some cool weather themselves, they can drop their dogs off to play in the snow," says Julie. "Or any day of the week they can drop off. We always have our pool and splash pad going."

The event continues until 6:00 p.m. Thursday. To reserve a spot, call 480-991-3371

Raintree Pet Resort + Medical Center is located at 8215 E. Raintree Dr. in Scottsdale. For more information visit raintreepet.com.
