BUCKEYE, Ariz. -- One person is in custody after Arizona Department of Public Safety officers ended a pursuit with the help of tire spikes Tuesday morning.

It started with an attempted traffic stop shortly before 5:30 a.m. on westbound Interstate 10 at Dysart Road.

According to DPS, the driver, later identified as Wei Yi of California, was speeding and refused to stop.

DPS officers deployed tire spikes to deflate the car's tires and force the driver to stop, which he did just west of Interstate 10 west and Watson Road (east of the State Route 85 junction).

Yi, 30, was taken into custody without further incident and faces one count of unlawful flight.

No other details were immediately available.
