MESA, Ariz. -- After 35 years at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, the Chicago Cubs are moving to a brand new Spring Training facility.

Cubs Park, built on the former Riverview Golf Course property, will open its box office at 10 a.m. Saturday for baseball fans wanting to purchase Spring Training tickets and check out the multi-million dollar ballpark.

Justin Piper, who manages Spring Training operations for the Cubs, said the stadium might look familiar to fans who have visited Wrigley Field -- the legendary ballpark on the north side of Chicago that has hosted Cubs games since 1916.

"There's a unique blend of elements that are going to be reminiscent of Wrigley Field," he said.

Those elements include the brick wall behind home plate, the light standards above the stadium, and the outfield berm.

"But it also has a very unique Southwestern design that is typical of our area," Piper added.

Cubs Park will host 16 Cactus League games during the 2014 Spring Training season, starting with a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Feb. 27.

Cubs fans can also purchase Spring Training tickets at www.cubs.com or by calling 1-800-THE-CUBS, starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.

A grand opening celebration will be held Jan. 25 and will include tours of the ballpark.
