FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- A Flagstaff couple was arrested this week in connection with a residential burglary.
The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a rural community just south of Flagstaff on Wednesday after receiving word that a burglary was in progress.
The homeowner went on to tell authorities that he had returned home from work to find a man with black paint or makeup on his face hiding in a room inside his house.
The suspect pointed what appeared to be a gun at the homeowner, and a physical altercation took place.
The suspect eventually fled the home.
CCSO said during the course of the investigation they learned that a 19-year-old named Tiffany Varming was a professional acquaintance of one of the homeowner’s relatives.
After additional investigation, authorities identified Varming and her boyfriend, 20-year-old Jeremiah Boswell, as suspects in the case.
On Thursday, detectives spoke with both Varming and Boswell at their residence and located items that were consistent with things left at the scene of the crime.
A search warrant was served at their home on Friday and additional items that implicated Varming and Boswell were located.
Boswell and Varming were subsequently arrested.
Boswell is now charged with first-degree residential burglary and aggravated assault. Varming has been charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary.
