PHOENIX -- The first weekend of October is going to feature some pretty nice, quiet weather statewide.

In the deserts we’re looking at highs in the low-to-mid 90s, while in the high country, depending on the elevation, look for highs in the 70s and 80s. Sweet! The trend into next week will also continue the cool down.

There’s a weak storm system rotating off the coast of northern California. Early next week, that storm will move our way bringing even cooler temps and periods of cloudiness.

However, it looks like the storm is not very moist so any rain will fall in California and in areas north of Arizona.

Air quality levels aren’t forecast to change much through the weekend either. Ozone and particulates (dust) will remain in the moderate range while carbon monoxide will be in the good range.
