PHOENIX -- Comedian and actor Gabriel Iglesias is in the Valley this week to Phoenix to promote his new comedic film, "The Fluffy Movie."
The movie captures Iglesias in never-before-seen footage from his sold-out "Unity Through Laughter" tour. Spanning over 23 countries, and more than 400 cities, it's one of summer's must-see big-screen comedy events.
The comedy concert film will hit theaters on July 25, a new date, thanks to the World Cup. "It was supposed to open July 11, which was the finals weekend," says Iglesias. "But because of soccer, they moved my movie to July 25."
Iglesias is known for his shows "I'm Not Fat… I'm Fluffy" and "Hot & Fluffy." He employs storytelling, voices and sound effects in his act. Other trademarks include references to his weight and his use of Hawaiian shirts.
He also had a role in the Magic Mike, and will follow it up with a role in the sequel. "We start filming Magic Mike 2 in September," he says.
Iglesias will hold an autograph signing for fans at the Tempe Marketplace District Stage, Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
