PHOENIX -- Monsoon 2013 is treating the Valley to a break from the heat Thursday.
Valley residents woke up to light rain and temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s under mostly cloudy skies. Overcast skies are expected to stick around though most of the day, with highs forecast to be in the upper 80s to low 90s.
Rain chances are best for the Valley during through the morning and early afternoon hours. Rainfall totals should be generally light, measuring 0.20 inch or less. Isolated thunderstorms are possible.
The clouds clear out overnight for overnight lows in the low 80s and we'll warm up to 102 degrees tomorrow under mostly sunny skies.
Mostly sunny conditions and warmer temperatures are on tap for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
