MESA, Ariz. -- Mesa Fire and Medical crews treated seven people including children after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon, according to Capt. Forrest Smith.
The crash occurred at Brown Road and Center Street.
"Our light was green and then my friend shouted," Melissa Flores said. "I saw there was a car in front of us and then our airbags just busted in our faces, and that was pretty much it."
Smith said the children treated ranged from 5 to 10 years old.
Two women and three children were transported to hospitals.
Smith said the two critical patients, an 8-year-old girl ejected from a vehicle and a 5-year-old boy, were in stable condition and did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.
The other people involved reportedly had minor injuries.
Smith said it initially appeared that two of the children were not in seat restraints.
Mesa police are investigating the crash.
