TEMPE, Ariz. -- Chick-fil-A officially opened its newest Arizona location Thursday morning.

As always, the first 100 people in line will be getting a free Chick-fil-A Sandwich Meal (a chicken sandwich, medium waffle fries, and a medium drink) per week for a year.

When Chick-fil-A opens a new restaurant, there is always a line for its "First 100" giveaway and today was no exception. In fact, people had been lined up since Wednesday morning -- a full 24 hours before the new Tempe location opened its doors.

3TV's Tess Rafols chatted with the very first person in line. Willy is no stranger to Chick-fil-A. He's waited in line for openings 10 times.

"The food is good!" he said with a laugh. "It was cold .. but it's all worth it."

Chick-fil-A launched its "First 100" giveaway 10 years ago and the crowds seem to get bigger with every opening. Lines form about 24 hours before the grand opening. If there are more than 100 people on site, the "First 100" winners are chosen via a random drawing. Those chosen have to stay at the restaurant until it opens its doors, which means camping out all night.

If you missed Thursday's opening and "First 100" giveaway, mark your calendars because you'll have another chance in about a month. Chick-fil-A plans to open a new Phoenix restaurant at 44th Street and Indian School Road on Dec. 12.
