SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Scottsdale police are investigating what caused a car to leave the roadway and crash into a house on Friday.
Scottsdale Fire Department units responded to a reported vehicle into a residence in the area of Thomas Road and 75th Street at about 12:15 p.m.
Battalion Chief Roderick Thompson said crews arrived and found a vehicle had run into the front portion of a single-story house, causing significant structural damage.
The driver of the vehicle was evaluated by paramedics but did not require further medical attention.
The homeowner was away at the time of the crash.
At this point, it's unknown if the weather or driver impairment played a role in this collision.
Scottsdale police Sgt. Ben Hoster said the driver was cited for failure to control the speed.
