DOUGLAS, Ariz. -- Two women were arrested this week after allegedly trying to smuggle a combined 366 pounds of marijuana into the United States.

A Ford Mustang driven by an 18-year-old woman from Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico, was inspected at the Port of Douglas Wednesday after a K-9 alerted to the possible presence of drugs, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

More than 173 pounds of pot was reportedly concealed in 123 packages throughout the vehicle, including under the hood. The drugs have an estimated value of nearly $87,000.

The following day, officers reportedly found 139 packages of marijuana hidden throughout a Mercury sedan after a positive alert from a K-9 and arrested the driver, a 23-year-old woman, also from Sonora.

CBP said the marijuana weighed nearly 193 pounds and is worth more than $96,000.

The marijuana and vehicles were seized, and the women were referred to U.S. Immigration and Custom's Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
