CHANDLER, Ariz. -- The owners of a Chandler tattoo shop are cleaning up after burglars smashed the glass door of the shop and ransacked the business.
The two thieves used a big river rock to smash the glass at Precision Tattoo, near Alma School Road and Chandler Boulevard.
Police say the pair of suspects didn't just steal valuables from the shop. They also walked away with about $800 that the store owners had been collecting to give to disabled veterans.
"The guys pitch in part of their tattoos, and then I match what they pitch in," says store owner Stacey Neal. "We pick the charity, and we do it a few times a year."
The whole crime was caught on the store's surveillance cameras. The video shows two men smashing their way into the store, then proceeding to steal computers, expensive tattoo equipment, and guitars.
But Neal says he's most troubled about the loss of the money earmarked for charity. "That's the part that upsets me the most," says Neal. "All this can be fixed. The equipment can be repurchased. But it's taking from charity that upsets us the most."
The store owners believe the suspects were familiar with their business, and knew just where the valuables were kept.
If you think you recognize the suspects, you're asked to call the Chandler Police Department.
