PHOENIX - The state of Arizona is filing a counter suit against the federal government for failing to enforce immigration laws.
Gov. Jan Brewer and Attorney General Tom Horne made the announcement at a press conference Thursday afternoon.
Brewer said the federal government needs to step up and do its job.
She said if Arizona wins the lawsuit, the federal government will step up and do its job concerning immigration and border security here in the state.
Taxpayer money will not be used to fund the suit. Money from a private fund will pay the costs.
