APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. -- The body of a 34-year-old man who went hiking in the Superstition Mountains on Monday was found Friday morning.
Christopher Hensley's body was found in a rugged area where it wasn't possible for a helicopter to land, according to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office. Search and Rescue team members are hiking into the canyon area to retrieve the body.
Hensley was last seen Monday afternoon when he left a family member's house in east Apache Junction to go for a hike in Lost Dutchman State Park. He did not tell his family which part of the park he planned to hike.
Sheriff's officials said Hensley recently moved to Arizona and was not familiar with the area. He was dressed in black workout shorts and skateboard shoes and didn't have much water with him.
Crews began searching for Hensley Monday night. His body was found south of Siphon Draw Trail at approximately 11 a.m. Friday.
The body will be turned over to the medical examiner's office for further evaluation and to rule on the cause of death.
