GILBERT, Ariz. -- Gilbert police detectives are investigating the death of a 3-month-old boy who stopped breathing at a day care center Monday.
Police received a 911 call about a child not breathing at KinderCare near Gilbert and Warner roads. When officers arrived at about 5 p.m., the staff was giving the child CPR.
Officers assumed CPR efforts until Gilbert firefighters arrived and took over life-saving measures.
The baby was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives are investigating the cause of death.
Police said KinderCare is cooperating with their investigation.
