SAN SIMON, Ariz. -- The Cochise County Sheriff's Office has released photos of a small plane that crashed in southeastern Arizona Saturday evening.
Wade Kincaid, 80, was flying the single-engine experimental aircraft from Phoenix to Las Cruces, N.M., where he was going to transfer it to a new owner, according to investigators.
He landed the two-seat plane in San Simon, Ariz., to refuel and during takeoff he snagged a power line, causing the plane to go down in an orchard at about 6 p.m.
Kincaid suffered cuts and abrasions to his face and back. He was flown to the University Medical Center in Tucson for treatment. According to the sheriff's office, he is doing well.
The Federal Aviation Administration was notified of the incident. The investigation is being continued by the sheriff's office.
