PHOENIX – Over three dozen suspected drug dealers are behind bars.
More than 300 members of law enforcement were reportedly involved in busting a massive drug ring Tuesday.
Police say they were taken aback when they discovered several local gangs that had never worked together before were collaborating to do business with Mexican drug cartels.
Forty suspects were taken into custody after the round-up.
Officers later held a press conference where they presented piles of confiscated marijuana, 19 pounds of cocaine and $170,000 in cash. Dozens of bank accounts were reportedly frozen.
Sgt. Trent Crump says vehicles totaling more than $350,000 were also seized from one of the suspects.
