MARANA, Ariz. (AP) -- An Arizona Army National Guard helicopter unit is returning from deployment to Afghanistan.
The 37 soldiers of B Company of the 1st Battalion of the 285th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion are returning to Arizona after their second deployment since 2007.
The Guard says the company set standards for operational readiness and execution of assigned missions while in Afghanistan.
The Arizona Guard says more than 475 soldiers are currently serving on federal active duty in Afghanistan and elsewhere.
More than 6,000 Arizona Army National Guard and Air National Guard soldiers and airmen have answered the call and been ordered to federal active duty in support of Operations Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom since Sept. 11, 2001.
