GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A young man is dead after an argument ended in gunfire at a Glendale condo complex early Friday morning.
It happened shortly before 5 a.m. at the Cedar Creek condominiums in the area of 57th Avenue and Camelback Road.
Officers arrived on the scene after receiving a shots-fired call. When they got there, they found a male in his late teens or early 20s who had been shot and killed. That victim has not been identified.
Investigators are trying to piece together the events leading up to the shooting, but at this point they believe the victim was part of a small group -- possibly three or four people -- near some vehicles in the parking lot.
An argument broke out and somebody pulled a gun and shot the victim. The suspect and the other subjects who were there all got into vehicles and left the scene.
The suspect is described as a black or Hispanic male, in his early 20s, according to Sgt. Jay O'Neill of the Glendale Police Department. The man is approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white muscle shirt and shorts. He got into a dark colored sedan.
In addition to scouring the parking lot for evidence, investigators appeared to be focusing on a second-floor condo, according to 3TV's Ryan O'Donnell. It's not clear to whom that unit belongs.
No other details were immediately available.
