NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) - Another tunnel apparently dug by drug smugglers has been found beneath the U.S.-Mexico border in Nogales, Ariz.
U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Nogales Station discovered a tunnel under construction last Friday.
They say the tunnel entrance is located within the Grand Avenue Drainage System in Mexico and continues north into the United States below the DeConcini Port employee parking lot in Nogales.
The hand-dug tunnel extends approximately 19 feet north, 15 feet of which is located within the United States.
Authorities say the tunnel is approximately 2 feet wide and 3 feet tall. The tunnel was incomplete and contained a breaker bar, safety glasses, knee pads, crow bar, sledge hammers, chisels and hoes.
